In 2016, AWB Building Co. was contracted to create a new access point into the basement of the Don Aitken Centre for cyclists, providing safer access with a clear separation from the vehicle parking area.

Additional space and improved amenities was also created for the future upgrade of cyclist’s lockers and storage areas. AWB was responsible for all site dimensions and levels, including relevant design certifications and permits.

Works comprised of external and internal upgrades. The external works consisted of new retaining walls, concrete paths, convex mirrors, planting and landscaping upgrades. The internal works consisted of a locker room upgrade and new bike storage area.
