AWB Building Co. was contracted to upgrade the existing toilet at the Cannington Community College. The existing facility did not provide an adequate service for students in wheelchairs or with other disabilities which require assistance with toilet and showering needs by one or more education assistant.
The work involved the upgrade of an existing toilet into a compliant Assisted Access Toilet – Type 3. The upgrade included removing all existing vinyl flooring and wall tiles, fixtures and fittings and refurbishing the toilet to comply with the Department of Education Primary School Brief and Building Codes of Australia requirements.
