Director

Graeme Kennedy

One of AWB’s founding Directors, Graeme Kennedy has a passion to help those individuals with physical barriers achieve a better quality of life. Graeme is a hands on leader, having launched his career as a plumbing and gas fitting contractor in the UK. Having operated numerous maintenance and building project businesses throughout Australia and the UK, Graeme understands what is required to get the job done. With a passion for disability services and equality, Graeme leads by example and drives results through all members of our team. His industry knowledge, attention to detail and vast experience underpin our management team.
Director

Nick Stock

Nick Stock has been in the construction & building industries for in excess of 18 years. Nick has a wealth of experience in estimating, scheduling and project management. Nick is currently director and construction manager of AWB Building Co.
Nick has the responsibility of overseeing the entire projects team including; administration and contracts administration staff to supervisors, trades and labour staff. In this role Nick has successfully delivered many projects for the government, private and non-for-profit sectors.
The projects Nick has undertaken have varied significantly in value, ranging from just a few thousand to in excess of $1.5m. Nick was previously recognised for his outstanding attention to detail and project management skills when his past employer was awarded an Excellence in Energy Efficiency Award by the Master Builders Association. The award was for the construction of the Perth Zoo Eco toilet Facility, in which Nick Stock was Senior Project Manager.
Director of Operations

Vaughan Graham

Vaughan is passionate about the growth of AWB. As a founding shareholder Vaughan has seen the growth and development of AWB into one of WA’s leading all trades companies. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Public Relations, Vaughan strives for outstanding service delivery through internal efficiencies and client satisfaction. Vaughan has a diverse role within the business, overseeing everything from new business opportunities, safety and compliance through to project delivery, operational systems and marketing. Working closely with shareholders and reporting directly to the company Directors, Vaughan is committed to driving the business forward. Vaughan holds a Diploma in Project Management and is currently working towards his Master of Business Administration with the Australian Institute of Management.
Senior Project Manager

Nathan Johnson

Launching his career as a carpenter, Nathan is a hands on Project Manager with outstanding attention to detail. Customer satisfaction, safety and quality service delivery is what matters most to Nathan, which is evident through every project he undertakes. Nathan is a registered builder and also holds his Diploma of Project Management and a Diploma of Building and Construction. Having completed in excess of 100 projects with AWB, ranging in complexities from playgrounds to new toilet block construction, Nathan has a broad range of experience to get any project over the line. Nathans area of expertise is in civil construction, having successfully completed a number of road and driveway upgrade projects across WA. Possessing strong leadership and management skills, Nathan drives performance through his contractor and employee base to deliver the best results for his clients.
Tenders & Contracts Manager

Laura Bucur

With over 13 years of international experience, Laura has been exposed to the Building and Construction, Oil & Gas and Mining industries in both major and minor projects. As AWBs Tenders & Contracts Manager, Laura is responsible for the overall coordination of the company’s tenders and contracts. Laura is overseeing the tender development process including bid writing, design and creation & submission of multiple tenders, liaising with stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors. This requires a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail and organizational awareness.
Minor Works Manager

Mark Speakman

With a reputation amongst our clients for being the go to man, Mark will always get the job done safely, on time and within budget. As a qualified plumbing and gas fitting contractor, Mark adopts a hands on approach to his role as Minor Works Manager. Mark oversees a team of internal trades people, contractors, suppliers and administrative staff to deliver various minor works contracts for government, non for profit and commercial clientele. Marks passion is in refurbishments and modifications, having completed in excess of 3000 projects with AWB. Safety is never compromised and the client is always at the forefront on every project Mark undertakes. Mark is a loyal, honest and hardworking Manager, with outstanding attention to detail and service delivery.
Maintenance Manager

Steve Dancy

Steve brings a wealth of experience to his role as Maintenance Manager with AWB. With the responsibility of overseeing all maintenance contracts, Steve is a hands on and analytical manager ensuring service efficiency, quality and safety are always at the forefront. Steve works closely with our maintenance administrators, supervisors, in-house trades people and contractors to ensure successful delivery of all preventative and reactive maintenance requirements. Steve is also actively involved in the quoting of maintenance and minor works, quoting on everything from bollard, gpo and grab rail installations to kitchen upgrades. With a real passion for roof plumbing, Steve is also an expert in leak detection and rectification. Steve holds a Diploma of Project Management and is a lead member of AWB’s Safety Management team.
Business Support Manager

Sheryl Kennedy

Sheryl is driven by efficiency and thrives on results. Overseeing AWBs administrative team, Sheryl is a highly experienced Office Manager with outstanding attention to detail. Holding a Bachelor of Human Resources and OHS, Sheryl brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as Office Manager. With a diverse role within AWB, Sheryl oversees various internal duties including system management, compliance and office facilities. Sheryl has worked within a number of building and maintenance companies across WA and understands what is required to get the job done efficiently, safely and with a smile. Working closely with management and reporting to the Directors, Sheryl ensures the smooth operation of day to day administration. One thing that can be assured with Sheryl is that she will go above and beyond for our customers.
Senior Finance Manager

Shuling Zheng

Shuling is a perfectionist whose passion is to give 100% of herself to every task she commits to. A good mind for numbers and a highly organised approach, ensures our business, our suppliers and our contractors are in good hands. With 15+ years accounts experience, Shuling brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as Senior Finance Manager. Overseeing everything from accounts payable and receivable to contractor management and reporting, Shuling has a crucial role within AWB. Reporting to shareholders and Directors, Shuling ensures the efficient day to day running of financial matters within AWB.
Assistant Manager Minor Works

Colin Fraser

Colin has over 30 years of experience in the construction and building industry having started his career as a qualified carpenter. Colin works closely with the Minor Works administration coordinator to make sure that the clients requirements are met with precision. Some of the clients Colin is working with are City of Stirling; City of Nedlands, MSWA; Programmed. Colin’s experience covers both domestic and commercial works and has managed small single trade projects through to various high end multi-trade projects. He will be working as supervisor within the minor works division seeing projects from beginning to end.
Minor Works Supervisor

Colin Harrison

Colin has work experience that spans across 2 continents covering different systems and procedures of installation. Colin has delivered multiple projects for City of Stirling, Programmed FM, Celtic Builders, Bethanie; Southern cross Care; Arcadia Waters; G8; NDIS; Health Support Services; Lions Eye; City of Gosnells. Colin is one of AWB’s Maintenance Supervisors and has over 15 years of experience in the building industry with a trade in carpentry and joinery. Colin always aims to provide AWB’s clients with a high quality service, delivered on time and within budget.

Georgia Stopard

Georgia has over 5 years industry experience and works closely with and supports the Minor Works Manager, Supervisors and Subcontractors.

Georgia co-ordinates the raising of Minor Works orders within the system and manages all the Minor Works projects to completion. This includes quotations and invoicing of all completed works.

The most important part of Georgia’s role is the liaising with both the clients and contractors ensuring the smooth running of the administration process in order to meet KPI’s.

Project Manager

Craig Glendining

Craig joined AWB in September 2020 and brings with him a wealth of experience from his 20+ year career in Project Management and Supervisor roles. Craig is a client focused problem solver, ensuing budgets and safety processes and procedures are adhered to. His “value add” approach to his work and service to internal and external clients alike makes him the perfect fit for AWB.

Craigs previous experience has seen him be responsible for a multitude of duties associated with the management of multi million-dollar commercial redevelopment, refurbishment and fit out projects ensuring that accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail are of utmost importance.

Project Manager

Nathan Edwards

Nathan started his career in the UK in Carpentry and Joinery and now has over 20 years experience in project management roles. He has vast experience including working on cruise ships, bars, chain stores, boats, nightclubs, shopping centres, universities and more in both management and ‘on-the-tools’ experience.

As an addition to AWB Co’s project division, Nathan will be joining the team as a project supervisor. He will be overseeing all the details of project management including procurement, scheduling, estimating and site supervision.

Nathan is an enthusiastic and goal driven professional with high levels of personal motivation. All projects are undertaken with confidence, a positive approach and an excellent team spirit – the perfect fit with AWB.

Project Supervisor

Phil O’Bryne

Philip started his career in Ireland in Carpentry and now has over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Philip joined AWB Co in November 2021 as a Project Supervisor. He has vast experience in the commercial industry in both management and ‘on-the-tool’ experience.
Philip’s previous experience working on multi-million-dollar commercial projects, allows him to facilitate and organise staff and team members to work in collaboration and an enjoyable environment. He will be overseeing all the details of project management including procurement, scheduling, estimating and site supervision.
As Project Supervisor, Philip brings strong project supervision over multiple sites, Phil co-ordinates services and contractors to facilitate all works carried out within the agreed timelines and minimal disruption to operations with a strict adherence to Worksafe practices as well as OH&S regulations.
